I looked throught the list of threads and did not find a idea exactly like mine. If there is please delete this thread.
I'll start with a question. Have you ever found a good group thaht needed a build in HA with a different primary professuin then you currently have? i know i have...many many many times and it's starting to (excuse the language) piss me off.
My proposal is that you have a devoted PvP slot that can be ANY primary profession that you have the campaign for and ANY secondary profession that you have the account for. Once you have picked ypour primary and secondary you can equip their armor and equip that profession's skills. This would definently help me get my long awaited rank 5 becauseI have seen some good groups that needed a monk (that is a build I can run) and I'm a bunny thumper . Let the flame begin.
Well you can just delete the existing pvp character, throw together the appearance and load up a template. If you want a dedicated pvp slot.... then leave a slot open for pvp characters. It can be any primary profession by deleting it and rerolling in like 20 seconds at the most. This isn't really a suggestion for something the devs should add as it is for what players should do....

Why are you complaining? If nobody wants your build at that moment either go reroll or look for a group that does. Or even better, make your own group. You can already switch your weapons and armor and secondary profession with the click of a button without having to reroll. You are just too lazy.
My thing is I find a group of what looks like good people or theyre running a build that I haven't seen in awhile so I say hold-on I'll go reroll and when I get back they have left and I miss my chance now if there was a devoted PvP slot I wouldn't encounter this problem.
I still don't think you guys are understanding me. Even if it takes 20 seconds to change to a different primary by rerolling people still leave and ten 40 minutes later I see their name on the screen that they just won HoH. Since I can't change them. I want to change the game.
okay Do you guys not listen at all? I have 8 slots (4 PvE characters) so I have the capacity to make multiple PvP chars. and I do I have a ranger PvP, monk PvP, Warrior PvP, and a free space. I might be on my ranger and I see
R3++ (way too few ranked groups in HA in america) SF GLF WoH. So I say to myself wow I have pretty good success with SF so I'll join that group because it's actually ranked. Then I remember Oh Yeah I'm on my ranger(which I haven't had luck finding a holding group with). So I pm the leader of the group and I say okay I'll reroll and be back in 30 seconds. I reroll to my monk and what happens as soon as I get into HA? The guy isnt' there and he left without me. It gets better... 40 minutes later I see the leader's name on the screen saying he won HoH. So I stay on my monk awhile (without finding anything) then I see R3++ holding GLF Thumper and the cycle repeats. This has happened to me many times and I'm starting to get ticked. It'd make my life SOOOOOO much easier if they would just make a devoted PvP slot. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE THING AND NOT JUST WRITE A REBUTTAL W/O ACTUALLY READING THIS!!!!!!

you said that you pm the leaders of the group. you ever bother to wait for a response to make sure they know you want to join or do you just log and switch right after you whisper?
Tip: Communicate better. This includes communicating on Fourms, and in game. When you post, make sure your posts are accurate, and understandable. They should include all relavent information, that way you don't have to make 4 posts that people struggle to understand just to communicate what should have already been stated in the first post. This also includes actualy waiting for a reply from the person you whispered, and even saying "I can play a/an [Insert charactar here], but I'm on another charactar right now, will you wait 30 seconds while I go roll a/an [Insert class here]?" Most likely, that person will tell you to get or make your other charactar, at this point you should inform them of the name that charactar has, or will have.
There is no problem with Guild Wars for ANET to fix here.

How about asking them for the vent/TS info first? That way you can talk even when your not logged in. Its what I always do when I PuG. And if they don't have it, chances are they aren't going to win halls or aren't worth the time.
BTW. I have 1 PvP slot as well. I dont have any problems...

Wow you have 4 pvp slots and you are complaining about this?
I wonder how people with 1 pvp slot manage.
If the person leaves they either have found a player they think is better then you they have found a player which is ready to go right there right then, or simply they dont like you.
I mean if the guy says ok ill wait for you and then he doesnt even wait 20 seconds like you say.. theres something going wrong here and its not Guildwars.
I will only say one more thing and this is it: Think how much easier it will be to be able to have a PvP that can change his primaryand run any build that you could ever possibly think up. Peace.
Go into an area with a necro, and everyone is looking for monks. Switch to a monk, and the next thing you know, there's 8 monks, and no necros.
So, why not add this to PvE as well?
Why do you pvp? For rank, apparently. You don't care what you play, how you play, or anything, as long as you get into a group that will hold halls, or rake in as much fame as possible.
There's nothing wrong with that, but that's not how most do it. Assuming you can play several builds well, it should be no problem to have those prepared and others will wait for you to switch, or won't need you in the first place.
For this, the only solution is, to advertise yourself as such. Say you have these builds available, that you can run 17 more but need to prepare them. If they believe you'll be a good contribution to the team as a player (anyone can make builds, so that's irrelevant), they'll wait for you.
Jack of all trades is master of none. Do what you're good at, and specialize. I'm not big on HA, and I haven't played there for a long time, but the last time I was there, my random PUG waited till I went and purchased (yes, a PvE char) a missing skill. And no, I'm not a two digit rank.
I know there's players that "can play any build". I also know, that they can play any build, as long as it's not blindbot, boonprot, anything with interrupts. As a matter of fact, they can play any build, as long as it's a vimway or bloodspike. I also know apart from a very small number of players, it's hard to be good at 4, let alone more primaries. Usually the distinction here is made just by spliting casters and melee, and just about everyone prefers one or another and will by far prefer to play a specific role.
And are there really that many different primaries wanted in HA? Everytime I went there it seems they were only looking for the gimick build of the month, which, almost without exception, involves 3 or less different builds.
better yet, allow your pvp char to change primary at will like it allows.
And I rly don't get the people who say that pve is like this, it's not at ALL
You delete a pvp character, you lose nothing, you delete a pve character you lose 100 hours of work +
My thing is I find a group of what looks like good people or theyre running a build that I haven't seen in awhile so I say hold-on I'll go reroll and when I get back they have left and I miss my chance now if there was a devoted PvP slot I wouldn't encounter this problem.
never happened to me
normally when i join in a team and i say "brb , i have to reroll" they wait me
I still don't think you guys are understanding me. Even if it takes 20 seconds to change to a different primary by rerolling people still leave and ten 40 minutes later I see their name on the screen that they just won HoH. Since I can't change them. I want to change the game.
Find someone better to PvP with. If a group doesn't have the patience to commit to waiting for 30 seconds as I remake my PvP character, then they probably aren't bothering with silly things like planning and communication, either.

1) "work" lol
2) No one's mentioned DELETING a PvE. The comparison is being made between "brb, let me remake this PvP into a monk" and "oh, you guys need a monk for your PvE party? Let me switch characters to my monk, brb."
